Suddenly Summer

I don't know what happened...I guess May! It's hot as blazes here and I haven't got any idea what to wear. All my more summery clothes are buried under mounds of sweaters. Also, I have a feeling that if I did dig them out they wouldn't even fit. Grr.

Hey, here's a picture of me in character for my upcoming show. Yikes, right?

Vice, vice, vice. I do a good job playing the washed up Girl Gone Wrong, even in front of a blackboard. Finally, the anti-ingenue!

I think that's enough for now.

Hoo boy

What a month. I don't even know where to start...

Well, I did not get into school. But I did get the "good" rejection letter that says something like "Please try again next year. No, really, please try again next year. No, really, I'll call you sometime, we should...hang out...or something sometime. Yeah. Yeah. Good to meet you. Bye."

Okay, I am a little bitter. It really was the good letter and they are offering to help me out with my application next year. But still, sigh.

It is almost time for finals. I have one paper, one big final to study for, and a song to whip into shape for public performance. Well, and then another paper talking about my experience in the singing class.

At this moment I am in my last Conspiracy class. The class itself was fascinating. The question-and-answer section often gets a bit boring, though. And we're having an extra-long one because it's the last class.

I got really sick early this month and spend three weeks in the hospital or under daily care. It seems to be under control, and I got a lot of good help and new medication. But it sure threw a wrench in my life. I'm still really tired and kind of just plain wiped out from the whole thing, but I am slowly scraping all the bits together and carrying on. I used up all my vacation time, all my sick time, and all my personal days. Luckily, some of those should accrue back pretty fast.

I'm going to be taking an intensive Spanish Class this summer, 8 weeks, 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. I'm really excited about it, except that it has suddenly occurred to me that this will make Sessions really difficult for me. (that and my lack of Vacation days) I don't see that I can miss an entire week of class right before exams. I need to think about this. I'm on the Correspondence committee for the YM, so I kind of need to be there.

Okay, grad students are presenting papers. Off to listen.
