Well, well, well.

23 years ago today, I was born.

1 year ago today, while I was living in Brooklyn, pouring coffee for strangers in the East Village, I got an adorable e-mail from an adorable boy and the first flutter of a hopeless crush was born.

Today, I am 23, and I share a city with that boy. And he even likes me. :)

Many thanks to everyone who sent me their wishes and prayers today. I had a good day. And it's been a very good year.

Happy Birthday, Amanda. Hope every year to come is better than the one before, and that the Good Lord would complete in you all the good work He has begun.

Much love,
Kate

Now get thee to Kong... :)

Bring popcorn, soda, bananas and hankys.

Blessing of joy and all, this and a huge bunch more years...

PS... I have not forgotten that thee is not fond of Bananas, but, I think in a crowded theater, watching King Kong, it would be such a lovely Friendly Simian sort of thing to pass to strangers to enjoy as they watch the wonderful Ape. The essesence of Banana on the air would then, so add to this otherwise perfect film...
A couple of coconuts to knock together as the audience claps the end of the film would also, I think, be a joyful thing to do, not to long after this thy special day!
Once again, HAPPY B DAY!!!

Oh dern, I'm late with the congrats too. Well, what are we celebrating birthdays for anyway (well, other than it's fun to!). Happy Birthweek!

Let's consider the eight days following your birthday something like the octave of a feast. The themes continue, the sentiments deepen, the insights brim with gratitude.

Lady, in the three (?) years I've had the honour of knowing you, you've just gone from strength-to-strength and it takes my breath away. Imagining you in another three years, ten years... leaves me speechless. I hope I still know you then!

Happy belated! I hope your whole birthday weekend extravaganza was perfect. And you ate noodles on your birthday, so you are all set for the year.

Coming in late also, but I also wanted to place my "Happy Birthday!" on top of the towering stack you've already received. Be well.
