Oh, I think you have to read the comments on Wess Daniels' post about technology in the classroom.
Back when I was in college, in the late 80's you know, it was a rare few that had a computer in their dorm room, much less a laptop in the classroom. I personally went to college with cash to buy a typewriter when I got there. But then I got a job where I could use their computers and never looked back.
I must admit, in my Copywrite and Trade mark class, there was a fellow who asked wuestions, which we all knew he thought up, to try and impress the visiting prof, to try and get a job, but, like thy friend, his questions were ASSININE! His questions were worse than my spelling!!! So... one day ( don't get any ideas... ) I began a process of non-violent protest... at the break, I set the class 15 minutes ahead..., the prof, looked up startled... began looking at his watch, finally asking some classmates which was right his clock or the wall clock, most said the wall clock, not his clock... finaaly, knowing the school better than some in the class, which was well attended by students from other nearby schools, well, I knew that there was a porch outside the fourth floor window... so one day, the fellow asked some, really look how much I know and yet don't really know at all question... so I got up, walked to the window, opened it and hopped out.
Ah school days.

Hi Amanda!
I think I recognize this guy from your class. I think he's been in classes of mine, and a whole string of meetings. And Young Adult Friends too, now I think about it. He was in meeting last time I went too, giving "ministry" and 3 announcements.
I read of a psychiatrist who would intentionally include a "therapeutic irritant" in all of his small groups. He said inevitably everyone in the group would be driven to distraction with annoyance, but in the end it was this guy (it does seem to be a guy more often) who would push the group past their nice comfortable denial and into seeing the truth. Usually involving some suffering and conflict.
Maybe God is doing that for you and I and Lor.
