Two comforting thoughts in times of weariness:

"Alleluia! We do not have to be right! We do have to love, to be vulnerable, to accept joy and pain, and to grow through them."

and

"No matter how many eons it takes, He will not rest until all of creation, including Satan, is reconciled to him, until there is no creature who cannot return His look of love with a joyful response of love."

~ Madeleine L'Engle

Many thanks to my mother for inadvertantly reminding me what fresh and cooling water I find in the writing of Madeline L'Engle.

Madeline L'Engle is amazing. I did a blogpost earlier this year about the Universality of God's Love, in which I included this quote from Ms. L'Engle:

"All will be redeemed in God's fullness of time, not just the small portion of the population who have been given the grace to know and accept Christ. All the strayed and stolen sheep. All the little lost ones."

The post is at http://wildfaith.blogspot.com/2005/03/universality-of-gods-love.html

Everyone loves Madeleine although there is quite a water shed between those who celebrate God's universal love and those who cling to the old doctrine of hell.

C.S.Lewis was quite traditional, but The Last Battle showed the ultimate convergence of life. And then his last and greatest book, Till We Have Faces certainly seemed to me to be a reaching out to universal love.

Thanks for bringing this up.
