I was poking around some dusty corners of the internet and found an old picture of me: 16! And skinnier...pointier. But otherwise exactly the same. Huh.
This is me before my life turned insane:
Life is strange. That seems like many many more years ago than 8. Though 8 years is a lot when I think about it.
I was thinking the same thing... the older you get the faster time flys...
Part of proactive thinking... thee is the same person as before things got so complex, and things were rather complex for thee back then - in other ways.
Focus on thy strenghts... they are huge and much more powerful than thee gives them credit.
Aspire to thy tallents and use thy faults, as Laurence Olivier once said...
Another word to Anon... and further more, some of us were born plug ugly and have been loosing ground ever since... one or two got better looking with age (the lucky few). But looks change - evolve, mean and stupid is forever.
You know something that I have noted that is interesting - people who like to leave nasty comments are all related... at least they all have the same name: anonymous. Sometimes a reader will leave a nice comment who happens to be anonymous, but I don't think I have seen a nasty comment left yet, on any ones blog, that the person who left it had the courage to add their name to the comment. And I ditto all the nice comments, I think you are VERY cute... but then I am your mum!!
A long time ago in a place far away called Lighthouse Youth Ministry, I dwelt with this tender, pure of heart. She left me changed forever when she shared of her walk with God. I think of her often and hold her close in my prayers. Lynn Oeser Peace and All Good!
Dear Lynn, oh my that was a very very long time ago, wasn't it? I am honoured that you remember me. I am still trudging along the path, just on the other side of the mountain. I hope you are well!
O dear heart, that mountain can throw us some formidable obstacles. But remember, the top is the top regardless of the approach and the view is far and clear. So let's keep plodding.

Hmmm....that's funny. Eight years ago I was almost as old as I am now, and just as ugly.
Everything is relative, Eh?

Oh my goodness you are the cutest ever. I wish I could go back in time enough years so we could have been in school at the same time and been BFFs.
Uh, 8 years ago I got my second master's degree.
SKB
cute kid!
Feel sorry for your self much? (We were all "cuter" a few years back --- )
Anon, if you read this blog (and it seems you do) you'll know I've raised feeling sorry for myself to a high art. Move along, nothing to see here.

PS A - yer still cute as a bug.
A-
ditto for me. You seem very cute, and what's more important, sweet and honest.
I think I'm cuter than I was at 16, partly cause I'm not trying so hard, I'm more comfortable in my skin. I wouldn't trade it.

Thanks, everyone.
