Huh

So I spent the evening trading pints and jokes with a guy I know from the local pub. We missed the T cutoff so I offered him my guest room. Hed followed me home in great humour but halfway through the tour he left to take a phone call and just disappeared.

WTF?

Strange how even this random thing, even when I

a.) had no designs on this person
and
b.) don't even know him that well

feels like a rejection. Sigh.

I did just have a few lovely days in Maine, stacking firewood till I was sore and cooking and drinking wine and lying in the driveway looking at hundreds of thousands of more stars than you can see in the city.

Let's see if it lets me comment this time. I think it's mad that I ended my blog.

I'm glad you got a chance to go to Maine. It's one of my favorite places. I was in Wisconsin...eating...a lot.

Sorry this person behaved oddly. People are strange--especially city people. -Rob

I wouldn't worry ... it might be nothing, like ... he wandered off a cliff ... or woke up on a park bench wondering how he got there! He might have four wives in Dorchester, Cambridge, South Boston and Chile, and just felt he was going down that road again!!! There is so much in the world just beyond our view... (speaking of which, thee should have a look at the bats I was photographing in Tompkins Square Park... what we see when we look up at night!!!)...
Maine sounds nice... sometimes when things are so terribly tough, looking up at stars (or bats) is just the thing to do.

Nice to hear from Rob! I miss your blog, Rob, ol' skin!
