A post-plain portrait.

Speaking of Visiting Friends, the handsome Quaker bloke in this picture, taken last First Day, is none other than Jeff Hipp from Cambridge meeting, the big blog-slacker who nonetheless has contributed often and well to many Quaker-blogosphere waypoints. Jeff, and Rob, of Consider the Lilies were both visiting 15th Street last weekend. We did take a picture of several Quaker Bloggers together, which was a very dorky thing to do. :)

I was extremely pleased to meet Jeff Hipp, even though I embarassed myself by saying that I like his blog and it turns out he doesn't have one. I've just liked the things he's posted on other blogs so much that they fused together in my mind to create an impression of a blog that doesn't actually exist. I guess this is an example of a verb that I just learned from a colleague at work today "to confabulate". This can mean simply talking together, or it can mean "to fill in gaps in one's memory with fabrications one believes to be facts".
I also love the picture. Now readers of the blog can see how misplaced all of Amanda's agonies about her "appearance" really are. :)

I think we may be in the running for Cutest Plain Quaker Couple living 215.33 miles apart.
Actually, I'd love to know if there's any competition for that title.
Hello Amanda,
I am still seeking photos I can post of current Quaker plain dressers on my website. All I have are pictures of me. Very awkward for a shy person like myself. Any chance I could use this photo? I don't plan on posting it unless I can get five photos, and since mine and this one would make two, it could be awhile before I hit my desired critical mass . . .
I'm pretty sure you can...I'll just double-check with Jeff. The plain dress isn't quite properly visible in it. I may have better ones at some point.
Yes, we're a little American Gothic in that.
Thanks so much. I'll happily replace it with a new and improved photo when one is available :)
I'm not even going to pretend like I'm indignant about that.
*blush*
