I have been singing to the bird

and also playing him Elvis. He seems fairly interested by these developments, and he will step onto my hand if I gently poke his belly, but he's just not thrilled about life. I'm like, "Little dude! I have treats! Eat this!" and he just stares at me. And if I don't come up with something soon his name is going to be Little Dude.

I could name him Pistachio, another delicious green thing I have been eating lately, but the point is to convince him that I DON'T mean to eat him, so maybe it's not a super name. He's yellow and blue, and supposedly will become green with age. He looks like he might be grooving out a little bit to Ain't That Loving You Baby.

I could just name him Elvis...

Wiki informs me that parakeets are of the class "Aves" and the tribe "Arini".............so I suppose you could call him "Aves Arini Presley".
"Catfood" would probably be a little over the top, eh?
Have you noticed how witty sleeplessness makes you?

If you sing him Irish tunes do you lsuppose he'll get greener, faster?

Actually I am a little worried about him right now. He broke a feather in one of his flutterings and bled a lot for such a little bird. I hope he's going to be okay.

Oh my... adding the to be named little dude to my list of those held in the light!

There is an English Friend, living in New York, who is a good friend of mine. He as a remarkable and logical equation for finding one's way in life. I was a little dubious, as thee knows, I am a little ... oh... cautious about things that seem too new age. However, I was astounded. It explains a lot about how he is as successful as he is, both as a Friend and a business man, and just seems really centered all the time.
He would like to see Cambridge, some time, and I would love thee to spend some time over tea with him, hear him out on this model - it is not his own, but he really explains it well. It is pure logic, and a real eye opener. It might help thee finding a way as thee sorts things out... it takes about an hour to graph out, but after the first 15 minutes, it starts to make huge sence. He offered to take the Ben Wah bus up to have coffee with thee sometime.

He is one of those steady, wieghty and kind Quakers who remind me of the greats of my childhood. He was to the logic of life, what Arthur Laraby is to the mechanics of clerking...

I could see him helping thee to find a model to get past pain to realize thy tallents better. He's no guru, just a really quiet gentle fFriend.

Drop me an email, let me know if thee would like to meet John.

Thine in the light
lor

Thanks guys.

Don't feel bad about being funny, C. The link you posted didn't work, but I've looked up some stuff on my own. He is a little fluffed up but he's at the top of his cage. If he's not doing better tomorrow I'll think about taking him to the vet. Poor little dude.

Dear of the best,

I think I'm all caught up with your last couple of months of posts. Not to lay anything heavy on you (you'd know not to let it stay, anyway, right?) but you have an amazing book somewhere in you, one that might have healing power.
